Who is overrated and who is underrated?
I don't think in the snowboarding industry these words apply any more. It's more the companies deciding "Ok, so and so is going to give us the best Return On Investment… Lets put him or her in the lime light". So now a day, I think is like who will consumers relate with or try to emulate, which in turn sells more product. The people that are over rated know who they are because 99% of the time they are the ones jumping through the hoops, trying so fucking hard to be marketable. Real sad stuff when you think about it.  The people that are underrated are the ones that don’t care and ride their snowboards really good, basically professional be-them-selvers (J.B). Darcy Keller, Mike Wilson, Shandy Campos, Kelly Schovanick, Lane Knaak, Andy Forgash, Scotty Whitlake. All the other people I’ve never heard of that rip for them selfs, way to go.

If I give you Super powers what do you change on the snowboard industry? To be honest I don’t know much about the “industry” side of things but how about anti-bullshit pills. Industry is kind of grey area for me.

What is SELL OUT FOR YOU?
Supporting or standing for something you don’t believe in.  But I guess some people need that to get by. But when the brief case is opened in your face, people always have a way of justifying, and that’s cool if you really believe it. Energy drinks taste horrible to me.

Back in the day T-rex and Bowie play the same day same town .Who do you choose? Why? T-Rex without a doubt.  I mean Bowie…legendary. But you know, Boland was always fucking rocking and Bowie use to be a guy in a turtleneck singing folk songs until he meet Warhol and the factory. To tell you the truth, if I was back in the day, in the 70’s you know, I guess my choice would be based a lot on what I ingested contraband wise that day.

How has your season been the season so far?
I am doing this interview so late that the “season” is long over. But I had such a rad time riding and filming with new friends all year. I was working at my electrician stuff as well, so always wish I could have been snowboarding more but I feel I progressed more because each day was that much appreciated. I would like to snowboard and skate everyday, all day but my money has to come from somewhere.

Plans for next season?
Keep shredding everything. Darcy and I started a project called Blue Collar. It’s about dudes who work for their turns.

Where do you mostly ride Park Pipe or powder?
Everything is fun. Lately lots of mini ramp cause I just built one in my back yard.

Best Skater you ever see in Real Life? Why?
Old dudes that shred transition always makes me want to skate more. This kid Jaime Tancowny from Edmonton is amazing to watch.

Top five days of your Snowboard career?
No order.
#1. Cat Boarding with Roan Rodgers and Jake Blattner at Island Lake Lodge in April. We had the whole place and 2 feet of fresh snow. Totally fanning out
# 2. First run behind my childhood house, bombing straight cause I didn’t know you turned on a snowboard.
# 3 That day in Fernie, Doyle, Paul, Mac and Costigan. Chest deep and snowing so much catching everything first tracks.
 # 4 Patricia and I had a knee-deep powder day at this little farm town hill. So rad, they let us shred with Jett, our black lab.

# 5 This may sound retarded but seriously any day I’ve been on my snowboard with friends, or like-minded bros that rip, have been the best. I feel so lucky to have had hundreds of days like that already in my life. Oh also my 1800 over the X games motor cross jump really stands out as a fave too.

What is Harder Snow Surf Skate? Why?
Skateboarding. I have so much respect for people who have figured out skating.

Tell us a little bit about your Tattoos?
I’m really into traditional tattoos so that’s what my arm is covered in. Most of them have meaning plus it’s timeless stuff that I’m stoked on everyday. My friend Chris does all my work and is a super well-rounded artist.  If you’re ever in Edmonton check out Show Down Tattoo. Dustin, who owns the shop, is a rad friend and this shop is the real deal.

Who is the best out there?
Dan Drehobl

Jesus or Evil?
Religion is evil. You need to understand a bit of both to get through to the next level. Evil makes great metal though.

Who rocks in your i-pod?
This week um, S.T.R.E.E.T.S, Thin Lizzy, No Age, The Black lips, Tom Waits, Trivium, and Misfits. I could listen to the Misfits everyday and never get sick of it.

How is your body these days? Do you do any type of workout or follow any type of diet? My body is always stiff but I’m trying to change that. Skating, coffee and occasional tobacco (hand in hand) and organic vegetarian works for my diet.

What do you think Canadians need for more recognition?
Sure.

You think is Hard for a Canadian RIDER to be big in USA?
No. If you’re liked, and you totally rip, you can be” big” anywhere you really want.

Any thanks?
All my friends present and past that I shared a moment shredding with, this thanks is to you. My girl, Patricia, love forever. She has kept me going since we met. Old Plush, Todd @ Summit, Mavis, Randy@ Olive. And my sponsor, Nitro. Thanks for putting me on rad snowboards and gear that lets me shred.  Blue Collar.
