Whistler Blackcomb's Edge Card Offers Best Deals Next Season
Whistler, BC - It's already March, but the season is far from over. Over 858cm (28 feet) of snow has fallen on Whistler Blackcomb with more expected in the forecast this week. As skiers and riders prepare for great spring skiing, they are also looking forward to next season, which marks the grand opening of the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. This record breaking lift will connect Whistler and Blackcomb and revolutionize ways skiers and riders make the most of their day on the mountains.
Canadian and Washington State residents can get a head start on next season by purchasing an early-bird 2008/2009 EDGE card, which offers lift ticket pricing as low as $57 a day, including the Peak 2 Peak Gondola.
The EDGE card spring deal runs from March 18 to April 30. Purchase a five- or 10- day EDGE card by April 30 and receive one free summer Peak Adventure in summer 2008 and one early 2008/2009 season day.
"Experiencing the Peak 2 Peak Gondola will be more than riding a world-record breaking lift," says Stuart Rempel, Whistler Blackcomb's Senior VP of Marketing and Sales. "It's about skiing and riding iconic areas on both mountains in one day; hitting all of your favourite powder stashes in one day without having to choose one mountain; or enjoying Belgian waffles at Blackcomb's Crystal Hut, and a pint at Dusty's on Whistler."
But until next season kicks off, let this season's spring shredding commence. Skiers and riders who purchase next season's EDGE card will also have the chance to purchase an Unlimited Spring Pass for $89 (valid March 29 to June 8). With a current base of 239cm (94 inches), conditions are going to be great, while spring sessions in the terrain parks will be going off.
Whistler Mountain will close on April 20, but Blackcomb Mountain will remain open for spring skiing and riding until June 8, with glacier skiing running from June 9 to July 27, making Whistler Blackcomb's ski season the longest in North America.
