Völkl World Rookie Fest goes to Ischgl for the Final Rookie Battle

Slope Style TTR 3Star, 16-20 April 2008, Ischgl, Austria

After the stops in Italy and Czech Republic and many dedicated rookie events at a 1 and 2 stars level, the last World Rookie Fest of the season, powered by Völkl, will be in one of the best parks in Tirol, Austria: Ischgl presented by n.asa (new austrian snowboard association). The rookies will go big in Ischgl and will compete for the WSF World Rookie Champion title and unbelievable prizes like an invitation to the Nokia Air&Style 08 Rookie Challenge in Munich, a filming session with Pirate Movie Productions and international sponsorships from Protest and Völkl. Moreover the program include a dinal concert on sunday with Jimmy Cliff!

“With the World Rookie Fests the youngsters have a fair and clear chance to enter the pro system: even an unknown rider can now be invited at the Nokia Air&Style, have contact with international media, join a film production company and get an international sponsorship.” said Martin Frejnademetz, snowboardlegend and n.asa President.

“Völkl is one of the first TTR Sponsors and one of the few Board Brands. The World Rookie Fest is an absolute highlight in the TTR Tour and in the snowboard sport it is one of the few events where enthusiasts do something for the "offspring" of our sport. And this is exactly the reason why we see that it is important to support this great concept“ said Karsten Mohr, Völkl Snowboards brand manager.

The best youngsters already showed their best tricks like double corked and cab10 at the previous World Rookie Fest stops in Italy and in Czech Rupublic. Now is time to move to Austria for the final rookie challenge of the season where a great level of riding is expected. Red Bull rider Manuel Pietropoli from Italy, Dimi de Jong from Holland and Sarka Poncochova from Czech Republic are already confirmed and many other talented rookies from all over will be in Ischgl for the Völkl World Rookie Fest 2008.
