ThirtyTwo/etnies Team Report

Markku Koski stopped by Fuel TV’s studio to chat with Pat and film a Daily Habit episode which will air later this month (check back for air times). Shortly after his visit, he jumped on a flight headed for the US Open in Stratton, VT.

Simon Chamberlain and Joe Sexton recently returned from a successful trip out in Toronto filming with Mack Dawg. Word on the streets...Joe Sexton’s killing it with Mack Dawg.

Marie-France Roy spent the last couple of weeks in Russia getting her shred on and drinking the finest Vodka. She’s headed to Vermont for the US Open this week.

Leanne Pelosi was last seen in the streets of Montreal slaughtering the rails. She’s headed to Vermont to compete in the US open this week.

Stĺle Sandbech continues to ride hard and work hard. He’s been shooting tons of photos with his brother and getting a lot of coverage in several magazines.

Tyler Flanagan will be in Mammoth riding everyday and finishing up his home schooling just in time for Spring madness.

Stian Solberg has been hanging out in Southern California working on his tan. He took a slight fall after the GVR snow filming with the StepChild crew at Bear so he decided to take some time off to heal. You may see him in the local mountains sometime this week.

J.P. Walker and Wille Yli-Luoma will be in Whistler for the time being. They plan on posting up to hit the back country for the month or until the weather turns on them.

And happening now...the US Open in Stratton Vermont. Look for results later in the week.

ThirtyTwo Team Report

Summer is pretty much around the corner and the snowboard season is almost over... Boooh... Here's what the 32/etnies Team riders are up too....

Freddy Austbo had a pretty productive spring filming with the Standard crew in Whistler last month. He sat through the dreary-inconsistent weather in Whistler but it paid off at the end. He's back in Norway skating and enjoying the nice weather. Be sure to check out Freddy’s part in Standards new flick due out in September.

Dustin Craven has been busy filming with the Capita crew all season long. He’s up in Whistler at the moment trying to milk the last bit of backcountry sledding everyday till the wee hours of the night. Be sure to check out his part as well as Tyler Lepore’s part in First Kiss due out sometime this fall.

John Jackson pretty much wrapped up his part filming for Standard films this season. He took a little break after the Whistler park session and ventured down to Southern California to meet up with some of his sponsors (32/Etnies). After raiding the Sole Tech company store, John wrenched on his truck and gave it a little tune up. Be sure to check out John’s part in Standards new flick due out in September. Will he get the opening part or the closing?

Markku Koski is chillin in Finland taking care of his shoulder. After dislocating a few times this season he went under the knife again to tighten up some lose ends. Luckily the doctor said everything looked okay and he’s already working on his PT. Markku spent a good amount of time this season filming with Defective Films – Child Support so be on the look out for premiere dates...

Tyler Lepore spent most of his time filming with the Capita crew this year. Clocking in some quality time. He spent most of his winter in Canada keeping a tight schedule filming as well as working on his art. Tyler also spent some time recently starting a new passion of his, Track bikes. Ty’s been spending some time starting up a new shop in East Vancouver specializing in Track Bikes. He’s currently working on the entire project so be sure to check it out if you’re into it...

Janna Meyen is getting geared up to do some summer shredding. She’ll be coaching at High Cascade this summer as her signature session starts in June so be sure to get up to Mt. Hood and shred with Janna!

Hampus Mosesson recently flew back home to Sweden to take some time off after a grueling season. He spent most of the winter filming with Mack Dawg films bouncing back and forth from Europe to the states. We caught up with the Hamp-man while he was getting some dental work done. New Grillz?

Have you seen Leanne Pelosi? She was last seen at Ms. Super park in Mammoth and I believe she maybe up in Whistler right now? Anyways, Check out Leanne’s film project of the year and be sure to come out to the premiere and support the ladies...

Benji Ritchie took a little break after banging out ton of shots with the White out crew this season. Still Bastards will be released sometime this fall so be sure to check back for details.

Stian Solberg made it back to Norway to jump right into a scene with some TV network and then headed up to Folgefonna to get his shred on. The snow conditions weren’t as great as he expected. He reported that Folgefonna had too much snow? Weird? Anyways, Stian will make his way back this summer to attend a few summer camps. Camp of Champs, Windell’s and High Cascade.

Wille Yli-Luoma has been quite the multi tasker... He was last seen down here in Southern California working with some of his sponsors as well as moving into his new home in Oregon. Wille wrapped up his video part with Mack Dawg just within the last couple of weeks. Considering how bad this season was, Wille was confident with the footage he was sittiing on. Can’t wait to check it out...
Wille after meeting with his accountant.

ThirtyTwo Team Report - What happened to the winter? It’s officially spring and everyone seems to be scrambling to get in as much shredding as they can before the snow melts. Well, here’s a quick update on the etnies/32 team.

ThirtyTwo April Team Report
from etnies

What happened to the winter? It’s officially spring and everyone seems to be scrambling to get in as much shredding as they can before the snow melts. Well, here’s a quick update on the etnies/32 team.

Fredrik Austbo was lurking somewhere in Tahoe with the Standard Films crew trying to bag as many days filming as possible until he had to go back to Europe for a demo (booo-hooo). Freddy was on the never-ending contest circuit for majority of the winter. He flew out to Tahoe mid-March purchased a snowmobile so he can continue to go into the backcountry (or what’s left of the backcountry) with the Hatchets and then had to make his way back to Europe for some demo for his Bank sponsor. Freddy plans on heading back to the states to wrap up the rest of the season with the Hatchets so be on the look out for Freddy in Standard's new film due out sometime in September.

Dustin Craven recently won the Shakedown taking home a whopping $15,000 Canadian! (that’s almost $14,950 USD) Dustin pulled off a front side 1080 to tailslide front 270 out of the box. He said it was a blast and he pretty much stayed intoxicated the entire time. Way to go Craven! Dustin’s been filming with the Capita crew all season long so be sure to check out more information on the Capita Team video due to be out sometime this fall.

John Jackson has been on a mission this season. Back and forth from Canada to Idaho and back to Canada in search of clear skies and powder! He’s been filming with Standard all season long and from the looks of it, Jackson should have another banging part this season.

Benji Ritchie is having a great season, he’s been busy filming all season with the White Out crew. He even got to hang out with legendary Gerry Lopez at Baldface this winter.

Markku Koski and Stian Solberg have been traveling together for the last few months in search of the next slaughter fest. They’ve been up and down the West Coast filming with the Defective crew. They’re in South Lake Tahoe right now on a Stepchild photo shoot. They’ll be there all week bagging in as many park shots for the new video as possible.

Tyler Lepore recently celebrated his birthday on April 11th with some of his good friends in Vancouver, BC. Happy birthday Rabbit! Ty’s been filming with the Capita crew all season long. He reported the local resorts in Vancouver have been the best it’s ever been this season. He’s a little sad that the season is coming to an end but stoked to check out how the Capita video will turn out.

Janna Meyen has been keeping up with her physical therapy and working towards getting back on her shred stick. She’ll be coaching this summer at High Cascade summer camp along with Wille Yli-Luoma and Leanne Pelosi so if you haven’t signed up... You should go secure your spot.

Hampus Mosesson was last seen in Are, Sweden at the Burton Halfpipe invitational where he placed fourth. Good work Hampus! Hampus has been traveling back and forth from Europe to the states filming with Mack Dawg all season long. Be sure to check back here soon for more info on premiere dates.

Leanne Pelosi... A.k.a. Party Pelosi has been busy filming for her part in the new Runway film all season long. She was last seen in San Francisco on an etniesGirl photo shoot. She along with a few other girls were invited to the men's superpark in Keystone this last weekend. Her next destination? Who knows, maybe your neck of the woods...

Wille Yli-Luoma spent the last few weeks in Alaska trying to take advantage of the record breaking snow they’ve been getting this season. He was up there with the Mack Dawg crew trying to milk the last bit of pow. He’s back in Portland sipping on some java and getting situated with his newly purchased home. Be sure to check out Wille’s signature session at High Cascade snowboard camp this summer.

In other news...Marie-France Roy celebrated her Birthday April 17th! Happy Birthday Marie-France!

Dustin Craven Winning $15,000 Canadian! Hollaaaa!

ThirtyTwo Team Report 01-11-07

Fredrik Austbo is back on track and feeling 100%. He was spotted having fun in the park in Colorado early in the season with the Norwegian team. Fredrik’s back in Europe right now, getting ready for a little TTR Series action and then he’s off to the European Open. He’ll be competing in a handful of contests and then he plans on heading to the States to start filming with Standard Films.

ThirtyTwo wanted to congratulate Markku Koski for the bronze medal he won at the Winter Olympics last year, so we actually bronzed the boots Markku wore during the event. Congratulations again, Markku! He recently placed third at the O’Neill Evolution Superpipe Contest this past weekend, as well as a TTR event in Davos, Switzerland. Markku will stay in Europe to compete in the European Open in Swtizerland and then head to Colorado for the Winter X Games later this month.

John Jackson will be heading out to the Secret Spot somewhere in Idaho with the Standard Films crew. He’s pretty amped to get back out into the backcountry. He’ll be there for a couple of weeks and then head to Aspen for the Winter X Games. John will be competing in the Slopestyle event, so be sure to check back here on the site for results.

Tyler Lepore continues to enjoy the deep powder sessions in the local mountains of Vancouver, BC. He will be focusing his energy filming with the Capita crew this Winter. They don’t have a name for the video yet, so be sure to check back for more details.

Janna Meyen has been enjoying the massive amounts of snow in the Northwest. The only thing she’s been up to since I last talked to her was shredding lots of powder and snowmobiling. She’s currently heading to Colorado to ride Breckenridge and Keystone and practice for the Winter X Games. Can Janna keep her title as gold medalist and possibly be the first athlete to five-peat? We’ll be rooting for Janna!

Congratulations to Hampus Mosesson for winning the first TTR event in China! The winning run consisted of a backside 720, a frontside 360 shifty and a 360 bonk off the barrel. Hampus made the TTR top 30 rank, so he’ll be given an opportunity to keep shining as long as he’s into it. Hampus will make his way toward the States later this month to start filming with the Mack Dawg crew this season.

Leanne Pelosi, or shall I say Multi-Tasker-Pelosi, is working on another film project this season. Yes, it’s true! The film company is called Runway Films and they will showcase a handful of the best female shredders in the world. In addition, she’ll be heading to Colorado to attend the Zumiez 100K, and shortly after that, she’ll be competing at the Honda Sessions in Vail. Leanne will also compete in the Winter X Games on January 25-29 in Aspen, Colorado. Good luck, Leanne! We’ll be rooting for you!

Our French Canadian hunter Benji Ritchie will be heading to Whistler to start filming again with White Out films. He drove straight through Canada from his hometown in Quebec shortly after the new year. Forty-nine hours and one speeding ticket. Damn 5.0!

Stian Solberg has been snowboarding in Norway with his brother and friends. He’ll be making his way to the States to start filming with Defective Films this month. Stian will be here for the next few months chasing the snow with the rest of the Defective crew.

Wille Yli-Luoma spent some quality time in Europe with his family and daughter Lilou over the holidays. He’s back in the States now, engulfed in some powder somewhere in the Northwest. Wille will be focusing his efforts this season on another banging part with Mack Dawg films. After taking some time away from filming with them last season, Wille’s pretty stoked to be working with Brad and the rest of the Dawger crew this year. That’s all for now. Keep praying for snow.

ThirtyTwo Team Report 12-04-06

Snow’s falling, so dust off your shred sticks and get ready to make some turns. Here’s a little update on what the ThirtyTwo team riders are up to.

Eric Jackson recently got back from Europe, where he was seen striking some poses for the Quiksilver photo shoot. He’s off to Mt. Baker this week to shred some powder since the Northwest has been getting pounded. Eric will be on a mission this season to film heavily with Standard Films.

John Jackson recently joined the Rossignol snow team and is currently in Europe right now attending their photo shoot. John’s plan for the season is to slaughter the backcountry and attend a handful of contests like the Winter X Games and the Honda Sessions. John will also continue to film with Standard Films.

Along with the rest of the Canadians, Tyler Lepore is enjoying the nice, early season. Fortunately, Mother Nature’s been kind enough to bless the North with cold enough conditions to cover the city of Vancouver with over 18 inches of snow. Tyler will be concentrating on filming with the Capita crew on a team video this season, so be sure to look for more info on that in the near future.

Janna Meyen is pretty much ready to take on the world. She’s stoked to charge this season with everything she’s got! Janna plans on competing in some of the major competitions this season like the Winter X Games and the U.S. Open. She just got a new snowmobile, so she’s out in the backcountry breaking it in.

Leanne Pelosi has been charging rails in Vancouver. She’s been on a mission this season, trying to get an early start on filming and shooting photos.

Benji Ritchie is in Europe right now with Rossignol on a catalog photo shoot. He will continue to film with White Out this season and dominate the backcountry.

Wille Yli-Luoma charged up to Mt. Baker to catch the early dumping. He will be filming with Mack Dawg this season and working on some of his own ideas with them, so be on the lookout.

Hampus Mosesson has been traveling quite a bit! He was recently spotted in Chamonix, France and Sölden, Austria, where, on a $200 dare, he jumped into a pool (while wearing full-on snowboard gear) straight from the catwalk of the Quiksilver fashion show. Now our Swedish Snus* addict and womanizer is warming up in Austria before heading to Munich on Wednesday to defend his title at the Air & Style at Munich’s Olympic Stadium. After that, Hampus might go to Japan for the Nissan X Trial, where he is still on the riders’ standby list. His next big trip will lead him to China, where he is invited to a contest at the beginning of January!

* Snus (pronounced “snoose”) is manufactured and mainly consumed in Sweden and Norway. It’s basically a package filled with tobacco that you squeeze under your lip for a full nicotine kick. I must say it’s not really attractive, but the Swedes and Norwegians love it.

Markku Koski started the new season fully motivated. He has a new board sponsor, Stepchild, and is already traveling around Europe searching for snow. After a trip to Saas Fee, where he did a FIS World Cup and won the qualification, he is now back in Finland and heading to Ruka to ride, have fun and warm up for the Nissan X Trial in Japan on December 9-10.

After a trip to Stockholm to do the Winter Jam Big Air contest and enjoy the Swedish party night life, Stian Solberg is now back in Bergen, Norway, waiting for the rain to stop and to finally enjoy some snow. He will stay in Norway for Christmas and New Year’s and then head over to the U.S. to start filming and shooting.

Freddy Austbo is in Norway, chilling, riding and having fun back home. He is also waiting for the big snowfall!

Since Europe is not too blessed with heavy snowfall so far, Thomas Harstad is searching for snow with his buddies in the States and enjoying the waist-deep powder.

Jussi Tarvainen is in Finland, concentrating on the rehab of his knee. He says it’s healing slowly but steadily.

Our Spanish lady shred dawg Cuca Aranda is finanlly back in Europe after seven months in Australia, and just started studying medicine. But, nevertheless, she is already working on her plans for this season, which include organizing a Girls Snowboard Camp in Huesca, Spain, and riding as much powder as possible.

Our Slovenian ThirtyTwo team rider Matevz Pristavec just won the Ballantine’s Urban Freestyle contest in Barcelona, Spain. Congratulations, Matevz!

Andreas Moen from Norway is getting ready for his trip to Mammoth and preparing for the season there. In January, he will compete at the European Open in Laax, Austria and then start filming with the Pirate Crew again. Check out his part in Lubedence. Andreas also just got the cover of Speed Snowboard magazine in China.

French ThirtyTwo team rider Remi Lamazouere is snowboarding in Val D’Isere at the moment, doing a photo shoot and getting ready for some real snow. He just got the cover of the French Snow magazine. A month full of cover shots for our team riders…how nice is that?

ThirtyTwo Team Report

Summer is in full effect, but that doesn’t mean the team is hanging up their boots and heading straight to the warm waters of Costa Rica, or at least not all the team riders are. Here’s a sneak peak at what our they’re up to.

Professional globetrotter Alexis Waite just might be turning European, she’s been spending so much time over there. Since June, she’s been hanging in Oslo, Norway mostly–plus Spain and Paris, followed by a quick jaunt to Cabo, Mexico. Then she did the Abominable Snow Jam at Mt. Hood, where she won a Rolex in the Quarterpipe. Next, Lexi flew straight back to Oslo to catch the heat wave that hit Europe. It was perfect, lounging at a sweet beach called Hukk and swimming in the alarmingly warm Norwegian ocean.
Then Lexi bounced back to Cape Cod, Massachusetts to visit her dad’s whole family, and to Prince Edward Island, Canada for a family reunion on her mom’s side. Lexi is scheduled to move out of her treasured Portland, Oregon apartment soon to Salt Lake City, plus a two-month side trip to Orange County to intern at Roxy and learn as much as possible about apparel design. She’ll be done with that in November, then hop back on her board for another awesome season.

Fredrik Austbo has been concentrating on his physical therapy and working out every day to get his knee back in shape for the upcoming Winter. He’s been hanging out with fellow ThirtyTwo teammate and longtime friend Thomas Harstad in Oslo.

Thomas Harstad can do it all. He’s been surfing, skating and snowboarding in Norway. He recently went on a road trip with some friends on which they packed their surf, skate and snowboards to do it all. They even entered a special contest combining all three activities.

Have you checked the Standard Films Draw the Line teaser yet? If not, you should. I heard Eric Jackson’s and John Jackson’s parts look pretty sick. That’s right, the Jackson brothers will have featured parts in it. Be sure to check out the premiere sometime in early September at Spreckles Theater in San Diego, California. The Jackson brothers are gearing up to head down South to Chile to test out some new ThirtyTwo products and shoot some photos for our new catalog with Stian Solberg and Benji Ritchie. This is a pretty exciting trip for all these guys since they’ve never had the chance to head down there, so it should be an interesting trip.

Markku Koski got a chance to attend the World Cup in Germany. He said he had a great time and wouldn’t miss it for the world. He’s been back now chilling in Finland and getting ready to head down to New Zealand. Markku will be down unda for a couple of months shredding and competing in a couple of events.

Tyler Lepore recently got back from Barcelona, where he and his girl took some time to relax and chill for a few weeks. He also worked on some ideas for his board graphics. Tyler’s back in Vancouver, getting all Martha Stewart on a few projects around his house.

You can catch Janna “Banana” Meyen waiting in line for the new Will Farrell movie, Talladega Nights. She’s been working on her golf swing, as well as spitting some dirt on her dirt bike. She’s also been working out every day and getting her tone on. Be sure to check Janna out in Volcom’s new snow film scheduled to be released this Fall.

Speaking of golf swing, Hampus Mosesson spent a week out at Mt. Hood getting his Summer shred on, as well as hitting a few rounds of golf. He’s now back in Sweden, chilling out and enjoying his Summer. Be sure to check out Hampus in the upcoming release of Mack Dawg’s Follow Me, scheduled to be released this Fall.

Leanne Pelosi is down in New Zealand, where she’ll be shredding throughout the month of August. She’s planning on competing in the New Zealand Open, as well shredding as much pow as she can. Leanne’s MGT Summer Camp was a huge success, so if you want to get in on all the fun, be sure to check out their site. Also, be sure to check out P-Lo in the upcoming Misschief film scheduled to be release sometime this Fall.

Benji Ritchie was fortunate to take some time this Summer to get his surf on down in Mexico. He spent a few weeks down there and, luckily, got some serious surfing in. He’s back home spending some quality time with his family and getting geared up to head down to Chile with some of the other ThirtyTwo shredders to shoot our 2007-08 catalog. Be sure to check out Benji in the new White Out films scheduled to be released sometime this Fall.

Stian Solberg has been enjoying his Summer in Norway. He’s been golfing, skating, chilling and causing a few heartaches with the girls, but other than that, he’s having fun and getting ready to hit the Southern hemi’s, bro. He’ll be joining some of the other ThirtyTwo shredders down in Chile to shoot our 2007-08 catalog, as well as film for our upcoming team promo video. Be sure to check out Stian in the new Defective Films teaser.

Jussi Tarvainen spent a good portion of the Summer in Southern California shredding the surf down in Encinitas. He’s going back to Finland for a week or two and then heading out and about on some photo shoots with his other sponsors. “Juicy” will be on the road for several weeks and then fly back to the States for all the premieres. Be sure to check out the Tarv in Mack Dawgs People, scheduled to be released this Fall.

Wille Yli-Luoma recently enjoyed his signature session at High Cascade Snowboard Camp at Mt. Hood, Oregon. He hung out with about 130 campers, shredding and giving out style tips. One of the fun events Wille implemented in his session was a photography contest. He handed out 130 disposable cameras for all the campers to go buck wild. Look out for the winner in the near future, as this lucky kid will get the exact set-up Wille rocks when he’s snowboarding. Stay tuned for the Young & the Restless tour.
