La Clusaz, France - Now in its sixth year, the number one freestyle event in Europe is taking on a whole new look. The old favourites are still there, guaranteeing success: the very best freestylers, the largest backcountry modules in the world, ragga, incredible jumps and extraordinary moves, not forgetting the legendary Balme massif in la Clusaz. But it’s time for this great event to move up a notch...
As always, in a truly laid back and festive atmosphere, sixty skiers and snowboarders are invited to show off their greatest tricks over some gigantic modules. Each module is linked to a country and the freestyler to carry out the best moves over that particular kick will be awarded a return airline ticket to that country.
Duration: For weather reasons and issues regarding training sessions on the enormous snow park, this year the duration of the event has simply doubled. Four days of riding instead of two; twice as much fun!
Riders: The very best freestylers from around the world will of course be taking part. The total number of participants is fixed at forty.
Modules: The modules created for the Candide Invitational event are as famous as the freestylers who tackle them. Designed by Candide and created by the master-shaper, Fabien Cattanéo (Snowbox), the kicks, trails and Big Bertha will all be present. They will be spread across different areas, each representing either a country or a different part of the world.
Prize-money: To spur the riders on, the freestyler to carry out the best move over each module will be rewarded with a prize money.
