StepChild Team In Japan
Members of the StepChild and 32 team headed over to Japan last week. Riders included Markku Koski, Stian Solberg, Simon Chamberlain and Joe Sexton. They were also accompanied by Suzuki and Tim from Maneuverline (Japanese 32 and StepChild distributors) who were great trip hosts.
Stepchild filmer Ilari went over there to film some footage for an upcoming StepChild Saturday that will be featured on transworldsnowboarding.com very soon.
The slope style didn’t really work as there was just too much snow. It snowed almost 3 meters in one week. Stian and Markku just slashed the pow in the trees all week. 32 TM Eddie Lee was rushed to hospital with gnarly food poisoning on one of the last days.
Congrats goes to Joe Sexton for winning “Best Jibber” at the rail Jam event winning 150,000 Yen. Yeaahhh Joe!
“Man japan this year went off…Stepchild and thritytwo sent us on a trip of fun! Joe and I were just coming off some rail trips and we were hyped to do some street rails and the conditions were tight so we sent it. A couple days in the streets with the Japanese, was a good experience, they had everything dialed and showed us some dope spots so that was cool really cool. While we were hitting rails Koski and Solberg went and rode the Pow roosters, It just puked everyday and it was crazy snow, supper good. Then we all dove into the van and went to the slope Contest. It was dumping up there so much so basically it was just a contest with pow turns in it cause no one could get speed for anything. It was rad though all the kids were hyped, we signed autographs at the thirtywo/stepchild tent for long periods man. Oh and did I mention Sexton is BIG in Japan…After the contest we shredded the pow all together and had a blast and that blast turned into my Ass the next day. Almost everyone got sick on the las 2 days with food poisoning and just had the gnarly runs man. I still got as I write this thing, I even crapped my bed man thats almost as dirty as Joe Sexton’s finger nails. All in all it was a good trip and those Japanese dudes are amazing, Maneuverline thank you for making it a sweet trip and Transworld Japan Thanks.God Bless” - Simy Chambs
Getting back from Japan the team is now heading up to the GVR event at Bear Mountain to meet up with JP Walker. Should be a good weekend. We wish the boys luck in this weekend’s contest.
