Squaw Valley USA to Host 27th Annual Snow Festival Opening Night Celebration & Fireworks on February 29, 2008

Come celebrate and partake in the annual North Lake Tahoe Snow Festival. The 27th Annual Snow Festival is scheduled for February 29 - March 9, 2008

Squaw Valley USA - Squaw Valley USA kicks off North Lake Tahoe’s beloved Snow Festival for the 27th year in grand style with the Opening Night Celebration & Fireworks. This annual tradition and family favorite features a torchlight parade, fireworks, and opening night parties at Bar One and Zenbu on Friday, February 29, 2008.

Queen Coronation -- February 29, 6:30 pm: At 6:30 pm the Snow Festival Queen is crowned. Prior to the fireworks display, bring the gang to the Village events plaza and meet North Lake Tahoe royalty in person.
 
Squaw Valley Opening Night Celebration & Fireworks -- February 29, 7 pm: Squaw Valley lights up the sky with fireworks, a torchlight parade, and rockin' music to officially open the 27th annual North Tahoe Snow Festival. The official opening night celebration begins at 7:30 pm on Squaw Valley USA’s lower mountain. Squaw Valley Ski School descends the slopes of KT-22/Exhibition in a picturesque torchlight, followed by a spectacular fireworks show. The Fireworks display is presented by the Squaw Valley Business Association and Squaw Valley USA.
 
Snow Fest Kick-Off Party -- February 29, 9 pm: After the fireworks and torchlight parade the festivities move indoors to the Olympic House’s Bar One and Zenbu. Partygoers can vibe to the sounds of DJ Mancub of the Space Cowboys at Zenbu or dance the night away to live music at Bar One. Guests must be 21 or older with a proper ID.
AE Snow Spring Break featuring Gym Class Heroes -- March 1, 3 pm: American Eagle Outfitters will host a winter ski-themed spring break at Squaw Valley USA, featuring a special performance by Gym Class Heroes. Concert is on the KT-22 / Olympic House Sun Deck. No tickets required.

Jimmy Heuga Vertical Express for MS -- March 1 & 2, all day: The Heuga Foundation's annual benefit charity ski & snowboard rally and poker run. 2-day on-snow event includes mountain challenge and GS races. The Heuga Foundation promotes health and creates hope for people with Multiple Sclerosis.

Space Cowboys at Zenbu -- March 1, 9 pm: The most happening club on the North Shore features live music from the Black Rock - A dance party like no other with the entire Space Cowboy crew. Guests must be 21 & up to attend.

Snow Festival runs through March 9, 2008. The ten day extravaganza offers locals and visitors alike the opportunity to take part in a variety of fun and entertaining events celebrating North Lake Tahoe’s unique community. Popular events include the Stohlgren Brothers’ ice cream eating contest At the Tahoe City Fire Department, the Tahoe City Snow Festival Parade in downtown Tahoe City, the Garwoods’ Polar Bear Swim, and classic Snow Fest parties at local bars and restaurants, like Sunnyside’s Luau and Jake's Mardi Gras Party.
