Sierra-At-Tahoe® Resort Entreats Mother Nature With Annual Pray For Snow Party

Snow Calling Competition Takes Over Rockwater Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe, Ca – Skiers and snowboarders eager for the coming winter will hoot, holler, sing, rap, yodel and who-knows-what-else as they compete in Sierra™ Resort’s annual Snow Calling competition at the much-anticipated Pray For Snow party on November 15.

The legendary kickoff-to-winter begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Rockwater Restaurant on Emerald Bay Road. A live DJ will spin tunes from the back deck to keep the party bumpín while a snow-making machine blankets the patio in wintery white. A terrain park box and ice luge will provide plenty of photo opportunities.

Sierra Resort team riders Joanie Anderson, Asa Martinez and Elijah Teter will join RSN hosts Todd Offenbacher and Brandi Ledbetter to judge the multiple contests including Show Us Your Ink, Frozen T-shirt, Beer Chugging from a baby bottle, and, of course, the legendary Snow Calling contest where participants are judged on volume, audience participation and creativity. Prizes will be given away all night long and will include lift tickets, a snowboard, one night at the Fantasy Inn, gear, gift certificates and a Sierra Resort season pass.

Veterans of Pray For Snow are forecasting that John Rice, General Manager of Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort, will once again be a top competitor in the Snow Calling contest. Participants in this outrageous event are welcome to use any means available to entice Mother Nature to bless Lake Tahoe with a huge snowfall. Locals have been known to dance, sing poetry, play homemade instruments and call on their ancestors.

At 6 p.m., doors will open for Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and Double Whammy™ season pass holders only (season pass or proof of pass purchase must be shown). The Rockwater Restaurant and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort will sponsor free appetizers and drinks, as a token of appreciation to all loyal passholders. At 7 p.m., doors open to the general public. Happy Hour drink specials will be offered throughout the night and dinner service will be available in the restaurant. All contests are scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Skiers and riders will also be able to purchase season passes on-site during the party.
