Mt. Hood, Or - Mt. Hood Meadows moves into March with some spectacular events.
Oregon Cancer Skiout, March 2 and 3: 20th annual event that has raised more than $500,000 towards cancer research and hospice care.
Oisra State High School Skiing Championships – March 4 - 7: The best high school skiers compete at Mt. Hood Meadows.
Friday Night High School Rail Jam – March 7: Open to all high students grades 9-12. $39 price includes lift ticket, bus ride and post event nacho bar & party. Must also have valid student ID. Purchase tickets at skihood.com under “eTickets”. Competition and rentals require a signed parental release.
March 3 Week Spring Sessions For Sno-Blasters And Trailblazers: Saturdays: March 8, 15, 22 / Sundays: March 9, 16, 23 - Meadows popular multi-week youth sessions for Sno-Blasters (elementary school age) and Trailblazers (middle school) are offered in the spring. Purchasing packages with lift ticket and lesson components receive an unlimited spring season pass.
Demo Days – March 8 - 9: Demo next year’s equipment from several different manufacturers.
Telemark Classic Race March 15: Classic Telemark Race and party - fun, gates, jumps, uphill skate section Novice and Expert Classes, Men, Women and Juniors All Ability Levels and ages welcome! $35 entry fee.
Full Sail Banked Slalom, March 15 and 16: The second annual Full Sail Banked Slalom will be presented March 15 and 16 at Mt. Hood Meadows. The Banked Slalom is a fun banked course, a hybrid between a giant slalom course and a boardercross course allowing participants to take turns at higher speeds. The event will be open for both skiers and snowboarders, both men and women.
Telemark One-Day Clinic – March 16: The classic Nordic style on alpine slopes. The free heel allows you to kneel into turns creating a graceful style. The Clinic is open for all abilities. Four hour coaching session is $99 (does not include lift ticket or equipment).
Three Day Holiday Kids Ski And Snowboarding Camps – March 24 – 26 And March 31 - April 2: Three consecutive days of on-the-snow skiing, riding, coaching and FUN. Camps are custom designed for KidSki (skiing age 4 – 12) and KidsRide (snowboarding age 7 – 12) The benefit of a camp is receiving a focused concentration of coaching over a short period of time. For most, this focus works better than spreading out the coaching over weeks or months. But forget all that. Camps are FUN! And very affordable – three days of lift tickets, coaching, full day supervision lunch and rental equipment for $175!
Three Day Freestyle Ski And Snowboarding Camp – March 24 – 26: Three consecutive days includes 5 hours of coaching (9am-12am, break for a one hour lunch, 1pm-3pm) per day with a park specialized instructor. Topics covered will include, but are not limited to: jumps, half-pipe, rails and boxes, flatland, all-mountain freestyle, park safety and etiquette. Groups will be split up by age and ability. For intermediate or higher abilities. $244 includes lift ticket, instruction - $180 for season pass holders.
Park & Ride Runs Weekends And Oregon Spring Break Week: The only regularly scheduled weekend mountain shuttle service from Portland adds daily runs during the Oregon spring break March 22 – March 30th. The price is $59 and that includes both a lift ticket and round trip transportation. There’s also the “Bus on Us” learn to ski or snowboard package which includes transportation, beginner lift ticket, coaching session and equipment rental for just $59! Tickets can be purchased in advance through Ticket Master.
Learn To Ski Or Snowboard Special - $40: This introductory offer packages a beginner lift ticket, a 2 hour coaching session and equipment rentals for the day for just $40! Spring is a great time to learn as the temperatures are usually warmer and the snow conditions softer (available March 3 through the end of the season for ages 13 and older).
Spring Season Pass - $119: Ski or snowboard the rest of the season for only $119! This special season pass can be purchased on line or at the ski area.
Special Group Prices: Groups of 15 or more get special deals on lift tickets – just $34 for adults or $15 for middle school age or younger. There are also discounts on equipment rentals and lessons for group members.
