UTAH UPDATE | Morning in the Gulch

Utah has been getting pounded with snow since the beginning of December.  Snowbird has gotten over 16 ft of snow since December 1st, thats right 16 feet of snow!  After a sick spell had made its way through pretty much all of my crew including myself we had not seen to much outside action in over a week.  After almost eight solid days of snow we saw a break in the forecast and decided to head up Little Cotton Wood Canyon to Grizzly Gulch.  Grizzly is home to the infamous Chad's Gap, Pyramid Gap and many other jumps and hips you might recognize from tons of videos especially Romain De Marchi's whole part in Pop was pretty much film back in Little cotton wood and Grizzly.  Long and short of it this place is the shit.   Follow the photos for the rest of the story.

Also make sure you are prepared and always check the Avalanche conditions before going in the back country or out of bounds.

Grizzly Gulch, Utah
- We had a nice view of
Superior peak from Grizzly.  This face had a ton of tracks down it kind of a mini Alaska in Utah.  This beast is accessible by the Wasatch PowderBird Heli Guides.

Grizzly Gulch, Utah
- I think this is Cardiac bowl right next to Superior. This was is taken around 9:30am look at all those tracks!

Grizzly Gulch, Utah
- We rolled up to Grizzly with a pretty big crew so we split up into two groups.  Both crews ended building jumps directly opposite the gulch from each other.  Here Steve Pearce sends one over the cat track gap opposite the jump # 1 above.

- Now a view of jump #1 from the other side of the gulch.
