Jeremy Jones: Big Mountain Rider of the Year Again
Santa Cruz, CA - O’Neill is proud to announce Jeremy Jones has once again been voted Snowboarder Magazine Big Mountain Rider of the Year. Over the last decade Jones has continued to build upon his legacy as the World’s Top Big Mountain rider. Winning the annual award from his peers seems to be a given, but Jones is still humble in receiving the honor year after year. Check out what the soft-spoken mad man had to say about taking the honor once again:
How many times have you won this award now? Seven or eight.
Are you still surprised when you win or do you expect it? There are so many great riders out there that I am always surprised to win it. I respect all these guys so for them to pick me out from the rest is an honor.
What continues to drive you? Progressing my snowboarding is the best part of riding. I am always looking to get that buzz you get from doing something you have never done before.
What have you not done that you are looking to achieve? There are still so many lines I would like to hit, mountain ranges to explore and things to do on my snowboard that hasn't been done. That's where my focus and motivation is.
What are your plans for the winter and what should we look forward to seeing from Jeremy Jones? This year I have been focusing on doing less trips but making them longer and it has been amazing so far. From now until the middle of May I will be in Europe and Alaska working with Absinthe Films and TGR. You can check out past and future travels at jeremyjones.info
