Snowboard Revolution :: Fall Fest Rail Jam

Peek N Peak Fall Fest Rail Jam. Snowboarding in Western New York in October. Plenty of snow, a sweet setup for all the snowboarders to progress and a care free get to jibbin attitude. It was like the Woodstock of Snowboarding.

Peek N Peak Fall Fest Rail Jam

Peek N Peak is the Western most resort in New York State. Western New York, isn’t that where all of the lake effect snow falls? Damn straight, and this year the first signs of winter showed up just in time. Their was a huge storm that rolled into Western New York on Thursday October 12th that puked on the Western New York region. Just in time to get the kids ready for the Peak N Peek fall fest.

The event was dope. A killer setup and eat it up attitudes from all the riders. The first day we rode from 10am to 4 pm and chewed up the landing to the point that there was no snow left. But who needs snow, all the riders got down in the mud. I remember coming off the rail once, falling and sliding on my back like twenty feet through the mud. It was awesome. Like the Woodstock of snowboarding! All the kids started throwing down on the setup that the crew from Peek N Peak built for us.

The rail setup consisted of a 20 foot down box, 20 foot down rail and an up down box all side by side. Totally legit. The drop in was forty feet wide and kept a solid flow of riding throughout the entire event. The setup was built to allow the riders to attempt their toughest tricks and progress as much as they could.

This past weekend Peek N Peak held their annual fall fest, but this year had a twist. A snowboard Rail Jam was to be the feature of this years event. Yep, not one day, not two days but four days of slamajamma rail riding. The first two days are over but for anyone else that wants to get jibby, go to Peek n Peak this coming weekend for another jam.

Canada

A ton of riders showed up on both Saturday and Sunday. Riders from New York, PA, Ohio and even Canada showed up to throw down. They all did just that. I have been living in Mammoth CA for a few winters now and I couldn’t believe I was seeing the same level of riding in my original backyard. Lovin it. The kids all rip.

Some highlighted riders from the event include Big Supa (Dave Glover) Watch out for this kid, Billy Cooley, Daren Reithmiller, Brett Mason, Markus Stephens, Caleb Erb, Greg Marrari, Paul Queder, Rick from Peek n Peak, and this kid from Canada, hit me up and let us get your name.

So the Moral of the story kids is that Peek N Peak is a totally legit resort to go snowboard. They want to help us out, build the goods and that’s what we want to ride. So lets give a big thanks to Peek N Peak and Billy Bacon for putting this on. Also for giving us hope that this is going to be a killer snowboard season in Western new York.
