Last week Mammoth got hit with a decent four to five foot dump and I had been working three days solid of twelve hour shifts and was ready to get outside in the new snow. I was stoked and super excited when I got a call from Peter asking me if I wanted to go and shoot in Sonora with him and Gabe the following day. I had never been there before and had only seen it the movies like in new MDP where Andreas does an insane rodeo seven off the DCP cliff and tons of shots of the Jackson brothers and Hammer in Paradox and Draw the Line. I didn't really know what to expect but knew it was going to be a good time and we had a rad crew.
Here are a bunch of pictures a captions of the whole day:

- We all meet up at Looney bean @ 6am and headed out around 630. Here is a Mammoth sunrise just before getting on the 395.

- Sun rise over Mono Lake in Lee Vining. On the road to Sonora.

- We got to the Pass around 730. Still not enough snow to drop off at the normal gate so you had to off road around the gate and drive up another 5 miles and unload there. Here Mac is starting up his sled.

- 10 mintue sled ride and we where at the spot. Here everybody is checking out what do first for the day.

- This is a view of what everybody is checking out. A zone Peter and Gabe had hit the day before.

- Building the jump that didnt work.

- After two tries and two close calls with some rocks, Everybody decided to look for other alternatives on the face. You can see the lip and tracks from the previous days jump.

- Gabe found a few fun lines and a little nub to jump over some rocks.

- Its insane how I grew up watching movies and looking at pictures of Gabe and never would of thought that one day I would be shooting him. Super clean textbook Taylor Method.

- Gabe and Peter are both filming for the new Autumn Line video this year. Good line up and should be pretty sick. Gabe checking the shot while Adam GTS's.

- Starting hanging out and shooting more with Peter this year. Super rad guy and has been killing this season.

- Switch back 180 off a nub.

- The snow was still really nice a few days after the storm. I even got a chance to take a few runs down this face. Super fun. Peter with a small slash.

- Peter really getting into it.

- The Macmobile

- Mac scoping out what he is going drop on next.

- Target located. Front three of a natural lip.

- Mac and Gabe.

- Time to move to zone two.

- Next up this iced over waterfall cliff

- Gabe scoping the drop.

- Mac also checkin it out.

- Pushing some snow for small lip off the cliff. The weather turned a little shitty. Lots of wind and clouds coming in and out.

- we had to wait 15min for some decent light. First break and Gabe with a cab 180 FT.

- A view from the bottom of the cliff and waterfall.

- Peter doubling Gabe up the hill.

- peter switch ollie.

- view of the top of sonora pass from zone two.

- Afternoon session on a natural lip. Peter getting it.

- After a long day of shredding and afternoon of digging out all of our sleds at least once. Me and Mac rolled over to the DCP cliff on our way out. This thing is insanely huge. As you can see right now it has a nice rock landing.
Had a great day in Sonora. Lots of fun and lots of great sledding. Definatly need some more snow and I know we will definatly be back this season.
