Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour: Fresno Results
Fresno, CA, once a marshy wasteland, where in the later part of the 1800’s a settler could claim his land by staking the four corners of the property is now at the heart of a fertile valley which boasts itself as the raisin capital of the world amongst a host of other agricultural imports. The Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour caravan was led north in search of another product of the valley, top-notch collegiate riders.

Our quest was met with riders under the influence of Big Bear and Sierra Summit, with riders like Daniel Holloway (Red Bull, DC Shoes) Alex Turner (Red Bull, Pro Tec, Smith, Forum, Vans) and Chad Cammack (Flux, POW, Omatic, Smith, Bern) as well as riders from up north with Silas Stannard (Red Bull, Rossignal Quicksilver, 32, Neff) from Tahoe and Andrae Cameron (Volcom, Forecast Snowboards, Celsius) from Mt. Hood.

The crowd was fueled not only with the sounds of DJ Wiki, but also by the sweet goodness of Clif Bar, and Red Bull, Cricket Wireless, text to win prizes, and swag from M(t) Theory, The Board Room, Giro, Spyder, and Civil Apparel,. MC Chimpy T called out the bag of tricks of the contestants, and needless to say, the judges were more than impressed.

To start out the finals, Andrae Cameron cut off the top 5 field by cutting a Front blunt through the kink. Cameron’s former Windell’s protégé camper, Alex Turner, didn’t forget the lessons of Coach Drae, landing himself 3rd place with a back-lip on the kink.

Eric Singer kept it consistent as usual and Hook, Line, and Sinkered himself a second place by 50-50, tail tap 270′ing out the middle feature.

The top place finish for best trick went to Shaun Daley as he stood a-top the scaffold with the pressure of last drop of the finals. This is where he stuck a nollie front blunt, switch 50-50, 180 out which landed him his first place finish with a cash purse, a custom Cricket Snowboard, and an invite to the Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour Finals, in Portland, OR in May.

When the day was over Fresno State students had smiles, CBS News 47 had a story, riders had cash, and the Cricket Campus Rail Jam crew had a snowball fight with the locals.
