Celebrating the Green: Copper’s ST. Patrick’s Day full of fun
Copper Mountain, CO - Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Saturday, March 15 at Copper with bagpipers roaming the Village at Copper, a street party, free live music by Skakedown Street, a St. Patty’s day themed En Feugo, aptly named O’Fuego, great bar specials, shamrocks, leprechauns and lots of green. Shakedown Street has garnered a national reputation as being the mother of all Grateful Dead cover bands. Including the best of the Dead, original compositions and other great tunes, Shakedown Street has a vast repertoire of songs (over 400 and expanding) featuring many styles of music (rock, country, bluegrass, jazz and swing). Shakedown Street will be rocking Copper when they play a free live show on Saturday, March 15 starting at 3 p.m. at the West Lake Overlook.
Following the daytime merriment is a special St. Patty’s Day themed En Fuego, which Copper has dubbed O’Fuego, starting at 6:00 p.m. Copper is literally on fire with O’Fuego, regularly featuring bonfires scattered throughout the village to keep children’s hands toasty warm, the Ski & Ride School torchlight parade where hundreds of instructors ski down the mountain in a snake-like figure, fire jugglers that dazzle and the grand finale – GREEN fireworks over the mountain! The specialty entertainment for this O’Fuego will be a free concert by the M.T.H.D.S. (an acronym that stands for Music That Heightens Different Senses). Equal parts shred-driven funk, melodic hip-hop and rhythmic reggae, the M.T.H.D.S. effortlessly defy traditional categorization with enough pop to be catchy and enough grit to be edgy.

11:30 a.m. Bagpipers roaming the Village at Copper
2:30 p.m. Street Party - Bonfires, confetti and swag for all at the West Lake Overlook
3:00 p.m. Free concert by Shakedown Street at the West Lake Overlook.
6 – 8 p.m. O’ FUEGO - Torchlight Parade by Copper Ski and Ride School, Ben the Black and White Juggler, a free show by the M.T.H.D.S., bonfires, green fireworks and much more.
Copper’s bars and restaurants are also helping guests celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 15 with great specials. Some of these specials are:
* St. Patty’s Day is Chicago’s favorite holiday, so Chicago native Michael Zizzo, the owner of Zizzo Ski Bar in the Village at Copper, is cooking up a plan to dye West Lake green. If that doesn’t work out, he is still bringing the party west, with green beer specials, corned beef plates with cabbage & potatoes and a DJ to bring out the River Dancer in you, on Saturday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 17.
* Jack’s Bar will offer $3.50 Killian’s drafts, $5 Jameson and U-Call-It drinks, $5 Double Irish Coffees and $2 Four Leaf Clover Shots.
* Jill’s Umbrella Bar has $3 Killian’s drafts, $5 Jäger bombs, $5 Jameson shots, a live DJ and an outdoor BBQ.
* Storm King Lounge rolls out $1 green beers while supplies last, $1 Coors and Coors Light drafts, $2 Killian’s drafts and $4 Jameson shots.
* Endo’s Adrenaline Café serves up $2 Coors and Coors Light drafts, $3 Killian’s drafts, $4 Guinness drafts, $5 Irish Coffees and $5 Irish car bombs.
* Pizza Carlo will offer $2 Killian’s drafts, $4 Jameson shots, $5 Irish car bombs, $2 Gold Rush shots and $5 Irish stew.
* JJ’s Rocky Mountain Tavern in East Village has $3 Killian’s drafts, $4.50 Irish Coffees, $5 Irish car bombs and $4 Guinness drafts.
