Boreal Presents The First Annual Rib & Jib
Donner Summit, Calif. - In support of Boarding 4 Brest Cancer, Boreal has prepared a weekend full of fun activities including: Rib Cook-Off, Cardboard Box Derby, 2 Rail Jams, and a Snow Sculpting competition. Come have some laughs along with good food.
Bring the family to Boreal for a weekends worth of activities for everyone to enjoy. It makes no difference if you know how to ski/ride or not, at Boreal there is a way for you to play. Enjoy Nothern California's closest and most affordable ski resort, offering skiing and boarding 9am-9pm, plus a newly designed tubing center. Boreal has put together a full weekend of events, supporting Boarding For Breast Cancer, including
All events will be held at Boreal, with registration located in the Group Sales office. Registration will be on a first come first serve basis. To ensure your spot in any competition, you will be able to pay and register a week prior to the event. So, if you are out on the mountain, stop in and sign-up in advance. All awards and donation will be given out at 6pm.
Rib Cook-Off: March 29, 2008
I hope you're ready to eat, because we are bringing out the food. Brought to you by Boreal, Missboarder.com, Snowbomb, and Boarding for Breast Cancer, we plan to bring you a fantastic weekend. Come to Boreal Mountain Resort on March 29th to enjoy the 1st annual Tahoe Resort Rib Cook-Off. All the resorts in the Tahoe area have been invited to show off their cooking skills and the food of choice is ribs. You are given to chance to declare who has "The Best Food at Tahoe." Plates of ribs and a side dish will be sold for $5 a piece, with all the money going to Boarding for Breast Cancer. Make your donation and don't forget a napkin. Enjoy a plate of ribs from some of Tahoe's greatest resorts and learn a little bit about one of snowboarding's leading non-profit organizations.

Snow Sculpting: March 29 & 30, 2008
Event Time: 10am at Group Sales Office
Think of this as art in the making. You will be given a 4’x6’ chunk of snow, then you and your family will get to work your magic with it. You can bring your own tools to the event, but we are not responsible for them if you leave them at your site. To reserve your own spot for a masterpiece the cost is $5. Prizes will be given out to the best creations.
3 Legged Ski Race: March 29, 2008
Event Time: 1pm at Group Sales Office
You thought skiing was easy. Then try it with a third leg. Come and enjoy as you try to take on our bunny slope with a partner of your choice. This should prove to be more challenging than you think. The event will have a $5 entry fee. Prizes will be awarded to the winning pair.
14 & Under Box Jam: March 29, 2008
Registration closes 1hr prior to event time.
Event Time: 12pm
This goes out to all those young shredders that want to have fun and get some free stuff at the same time. Enjoy as we create a setup for the youngsters and watch as they try and get a taste of the competition scene. The event will have a $5 entry fee. Prizes and giveaways after the event.
Rail Jam: March 29, 2008
Registration closes 1 hr prior to event time.
Event Time: 3:30pm
It can’t be a Rib & Jib without a Rail Jam. This will prove to be an exciting event and the grand finale for the day. Come and see if you have what it takes to win the 1st annual Rib & Jib. Lots of prizes and a secret setup await anyway who thinks they’re good enough. Entry fee is $5 and bring your "A" game.
Cardboard Box Derby: March 30, 2008
Cardboard Box Parade: 10:30am at Accelerator
Event Time: 11am - 3pm
Are you ready for some fun and shenanigans, this is the time to do it. Bring your cardboard setup and see if you can handle our snowtubing hill. We have placed design restrictions to ensure the safety of everyone.
1. Weighs no more than 50 lbs.
2. No wider than 3’6”
3. Must have a cardboard bottom.
4. Team consists of 2 people, 1 pusher and 1 driver. Both may go down the hill
5. Smile
Prizes will be given out to the best looking and fastest time. Come out and have some fun. Free entry, helmets and liabilities are required.
