Bragging Rights Up For Grabs at Jay Peak Resort
Burlington, VT – On Saturday, March 29th 2008 college riders will throw down at Jay Peak, VT in the 2nd Annual Battle for Burlington. The only event of its kind; this jam-format slopestyle event is designed specifically for the college crowd. The event aims to provide a fun and energetic experience for both college competitors and those who come to enjoy the action.
The Battle is extremely pleased to produce another successful event at Jay Peak Resort. Last year’s event marked the highlight of Jay Peak and Vermont’s event calendar drawing 60 competitors from local colleges and universities, and over 2,300 spectators who came out to watch the excitement. Champlain College returns, defending the title as reigning champs while UVM and St. Mike’s are looking to emerge victorious this year.
The College Throw-Down is open to all collegiate riders. Registration starts at 10 a.m. for 80 openings in the competition, assigned on a first come, first serve basis with a $20 registration fee. Those interested in participating should contact their respective ski and ride club.
Spectators can purchase lift tickets for $20 on the day of the event. Major sponsors include Brand New Clothing, Burton Snowboards, Oakley, Eesa, Future Snowboarding Magazine, Bern, Monitor Premiums, Guru Rails, Drop and Nectar’s.
