Record Snowfall Allows Aspen/Snowmass to Thank Community With Two Bonus Weekends April 19-20 and 26-27

Aspen/Snowmass, CO – Aspen Skiing Company announced today that it will extend the season at Aspen Highlands through April 27. With over 120 inches on the ground in Highland Bowl and almost 100 inches at mid-mountain, the mountain should be in excellent shape through the end of the month of April. Highlands will open on Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20 and April 26-27.

"This is our way of saying thank you to the community for a great season," said Mike Kaplan, president and CEO, Aspen Skiing Company. "We look forward to seeing everyone out on the hill."

The mountain will be open to the 12,382-foot summit of Highland Bowl. The Exhibition, Loge and Deep Temerity lifts will run daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. providing access to the entire mountain. The Merry-Go-Round restaurant will serve a limited lunch menu with barbecue, chips and beverages.

"It would be a shame to waste all this great snow," said Rich Burkley, vice president mountain operations, "and since the CFO is out of the country, we decided to pull the trigger before he gets back."

With roughly 400 inches of snowfall this season, the conditions at Aspen/Snowmass are the best they have been in many years. In addition, to great skiing and riding, there will be live music, events and special packages available. More details will be announced shortly.

All Aspen/Snowmass season passes are valid as they are during the regular season. Adult tickets will be $39 per day, youth and seniors will pay $35 and children's tickets will be $25. As always children six and under ski for free.

As a show of support for resort employees across the country, employees from any other ski resort with a current season picture pass will pay just $12 for a lift ticket.

The second weekend coincides with Frontier Airlines inaugural flights into Aspen. Frontier will launch the new Denver to Aspen service with five flights daily, year round beginning April 26, 2008.
