Mammoth Lakes, Calif. (March 28, 2008) - The fourth annual Roxy Chicken Jam presented by Schick® Quattro for Women® was scheduled to start today but was put on hold due to weather. The three-day all-women's professional snowboard contest is the final six-star event of the Swatch Ticket to Ride (TTR) World Snowboard Tour and will name the 2008 TTR World Tour Champion. Athletes will compete in slopestyle and superpipe for more than $150,000 in prize money, which includes the Swatch TTR World Tour $110,000 prize purse and coveted TTR World Tour Title.
Despite snowy conditions today, the girls withstood the gusty winds and hit the course hard for a few practice rounds, anxious to show their style and claim a spot in the main event. Today's postponement will move the superpipe qualifiers to tomorrow morning and the slopestyle qualifiers to Sunday.
