2008 Grandvalira Total Fight

Grandvalira, Andorra – Recent snowfalls and increasingly good conditions have allowed the Coliflor Crew to start shaping the best snow parks of the Pyreness for the Swatch TTR 4-Star Grandvalira Total Fight. From March 27th to 30th 2008, over 70 snowboarders from all over the world will take over the El Tarter park in Andorra to compete for 750 TTR Ranking points and a 10 000 Euro prize purse.

Big names ready to get their shred on and increase their TTR ranking position include last year’s Total Fight Title winner and TTR World No. 38 Jaakko Ruha from Finland, Czech rider Martin Cernik who placed third at the 3-Star Quiksilver Snow Jam, Aesthetiker team rider and TTR World No. 35 Rudi Kroell, and recent O’Neill Barbecue winner Mark Swoboda from Austria who is also TTR World No. 69.

Also set to put their dukes up at the Total Fight is French rider Olivier Gittler, currently sitting at TTR World No. 40 as well as Christoph Weber from Germany who is known for creative film projects such as 91 Words for Snow. Also said to be competing is Spanish rider Iker Fernandez, an icon of the Spanish scene who has been killing it for years. Fernandez has made the finals of many prestigious contests, produced numerous high quality film parts and is also a three time Olympian.

The upcoming Slopestyle contest is boasted as one of the best events in southern Europe and with a high-profile riders list along with a sick freestyle snowboard park, the Grandvalira Total Fight is sure to be off the wall. The park features 3 different lines with the ultimate in jump and jib variety. The first includes a pipe, a gap jump, and a step-up to step-down plus a jibbing obstacle. The second line features a 25-stair double rail, a gap jump, and a step-up to step-down with a jib obstacle. The third and final line includes a 20 m big Air kicker, a step up, and a final step-up to step down with a jib feature at the end.
