07/08 Burton AM Tour: Talma Results
For the Finnish stop the Burton AM Tour 2007/08 invited to Talma on Saturday. The resort not far from the capital Helsinki is popular for being the perfect training area for future stars such as Burton Top Rider Peetu Piiroinen who grew up in the region and made it to the world´s peak this year (2nd TTR World Tour Ranking 2007/08, 1st Burton Global Open Series Ranking). The many local competitors proved that there is still a huge potential of strong young bloods. Under a bluebird sky and temperatures far above the freezing point the riders delivered an impressive show on a very high level.
The 16-year old Burton Rider Sami Ikonen from Kerava felt visibly comfortable in his home park and among others convinced in the Junior Boys category with the best trick of the day which was a Cab 900 Mute. Behind him his friends Niko Hakala (19) and Juuso Laurila (19), both from Kerava as well found themselves on the second and third place. Ruut Lakkanen (15) from Sasaniemi won the competition in the Junior Girls category with stylish tricks such as a Frontside 180 Mute in front of Merika Enne (15) and Kristina Nisula (16) from Tampere. In the younger categories Damon Beckford (14) from Vantaa and Elli Törmä (14) from Kerava like all the other winners could take home the nice prizes from Burton, R.E.D., Anon as well as the XL family pack of chocolate bars from local sponsor Tupla.
For the next stops in Kläppen in one and Are in two weeks the Burton AM Tour goes on to Sweden now.

About Burton AM Tour
The third edition of the Burton AM Tour consists of 19 events in 15 different European countries. Kids between 8 and 20 years can compete for great material prizes and guaranteed starting slots at the Burton European Open - Europes biggest snowboard competition. On top the Main Sponsor Suzuki provides two Quad Bikes for both Junior Tour Champions. The Burton AM Tour is part of the TTR (Ticket to Ride) World Snowboard Tour. Therewith at every event useful points for the TTR Ranking can be won.
