Kläppen, Sweden - The Burton AM Tour reached Sweden and held the first of the two national stops this weekend. While the preparations on Friday had to be done in the rain, on Saturday all the clouds were blown away. Sunshine and comfortable temperatures made sure the purest spring feelings. Kläppen as the hosting resort provided a dedicated team of helpers as well as a diversified snowpark which offered the perfect base for the event. The contest set-up contained massive kickers and mellow elements in one and gave every rider a nice choice of lines. The spectators chilled out at the barbecue and rewarded every run with a powerful applause.
The Swedish juniors rocked the park and emerged as specialists of high and huge airs. The local Niklas Askmyr (17) presented the best trick of the day, a frontside 900 tailgrab on the biggest kicker. But in the end he ‘only’ achieved the second place since the 19-year-old Joel Andersson convinced the judges with his clean and stylish overall performance. With his victory Joel Andersson not only won various prizes from organiser Burton and the tour sponsors, but also qualified for the Burton Halfpipe Invitational in Ĺre taking place at the up-coming weekend. In the Junior Girls category Matilda Pilfalk (19) with tricks such as a frontside 360 let all her rivals behind her and the 14-year-old Timmy Säisä from Kiruna achieved the first place in the youngest category, the Kid Boys.
For the next stop on Friday in Ĺre, the Burton AM Tour is now going up North. This is another chance for the Junior Boys to qualify for the TTR 3-star event, the Burton Halfpipe Invitational.

About Burton AM Tour
The third edition of the Burton AM Tour consists of 19 events in 15 different European countries. Kids between 8 and 20 years can compete for great material prizes and guaranteed starting slots at the Burton European Open - Europes biggest snowboard competition. On top the Main Sponsor Suzuki provides two Quad Bikes for both Junior Tour Champions. The Burton AM Tour is part of the TTR (Ticket to Ride) World Snowboard Tour.
